Currently, Bac Giang province has 45 industrial clusters with a total area of 1,728 hectares. In which, there are 31 industrial clusters in operation with a total area of 969 hectares. The industrial land area according to the detailed planning that can be leased is 695 hectares with occupancy rate of 81.6%.
Industrial clusters have attracted 232 investment projects with a registered capital of more than 32,765 billion VND. Currently, 223 projects have been put into operation, 09 projects are under implementation. Production projects in industrial clusters have attracted more than 65,000 employees.
There are 14 newly established industrial clusters which have not yet attracted secondary investors. These are completing procedures for site clearance compensation, investment in construction of technical infrastructure.
According to the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, the province plans to add 24 industrial clusters with a total area of 1,361 hectares and expand 03 industrial clusters with an additional area of 91.5 hectares.
Production projects in industrial clusters are mainly small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, mainly domestic enterprises focusing on garment, agricultural and forestry product processing, mechanical engineering, etc. A few enterprises produce electronic components. Garment enterprises are the main ones, employing a relatively large number of about 2,000 – 7,000 workers, helping to create jobs for localities with industrial clusters, reducing pressure on areas where large industrial parks are concentrated such as Quang Chau, Van Trung, Song Khe – Noi Hoang./.
